The Family

First there was only Chaos, the empty void. Out of the void came Tartarus, the abyss, Gaea, the earth, Nyx, night, and Erebus, darkness. Out also came Eros[1].

Erebus went with Nyx and made Aether, light, and Hemera, day.

Nyx sired many offspring by himself, which were...

Sons: Moros, doom, the Oneiroi, dreams, led by Morpheus, Momus, blame, Geras, aging (opposite of Hebe), Thanatos, death, and Hypnos, sleep.
Daughters: Nemesis, retribution/revenge, Philotes, affection, Eris, strife, Apate, deceit, the Moirai, (Fates), and the Keres, the spirits of violent death, in a way opposite of Thanatos (Thanatos is peaceful death)

Gaea sired Uranus, the sky Pontus, the sea, and Ourea, the mountains.

Gaea married Uranus and out came the Hekatoncheires and the elder Cyclopes, Argus [2], Brontes, and Steropes.

Uranus was terrified about his monstrous offspring, the HTC (HekaTonCheires) and the Cyclopes he imprisoned them inside his uncle, Gaea's brother and later fling, Tartarus. This hurt Gaea so much, in fact, she earlier gave birth to the first generation Titans, Kronos, Mnemosyne, Iapetus, Theia, Hyperion, Rhea, Oceanus, Tethys, Krios, Phoebe, Coeus, and Themis.

Kronos castrated Uranus. Out of his blood came the Erinyes, also known as the furies, Meliae, ash tree nymphs, the Giants, and Aphrodite[3].

Kronos and Rhea married and created Hades, Poseidon, Zeus, Demeter, Hestia, and Hera. Yet after Zeus gave birth to the remaining 8 Olympians, war between the Titans and the Olympians began, yet this 10-year war was named Titanomachy.

The remaining 8 Olympians (other than Zeus, Poseidon, Hera, and Demeter) were Athena, given birth by Zeus alone (and Metis), Dionysus, the thrice-born god, born from Semele and Zeus, Ares and Hephaestus, born from Hera and Zeus, Apollo and Artemis, born from Zeus and Leto, Aphrodite, possibly also born from Zeus and Dione, Hermes, born from Zeus and Maia, and... that's it.

TITAN_OMAC_HY begins!!!!!!

the gods won, head over 2 another website for more info or how titan_o_ma_ch_y was played out.

[1] Eros could be born from Aphrodite and Ares, or even Zephyrus and Iris.
[2] Argus the Cyclops should not be confused with Argus Panoptes, the many-eyed son of Hera.
[3] On some accounts Aphrodite was born from Uranus' sea foam though she could also be born from Zeus and Dione.
